I am not trying to show all the Activity or Staff patches, just
trying to identify a sampling. IF someone develops a check list I will publish it. |
Camp Life |

Of all the Jamborees I’ve covered I haven’t hardly touched on camp life. The Jamboree isn’t much different than a unit weekend campout. Some of the food is prepared, but some things need to be cooked, there is always clean up. Laundry to wash and hang out. Games to be played. |

The Trading Post was downsized in 2023, instead of multiple locations there was only a single Trading post, but it was huge. There was no pre-Jamboree sales catalog although most items were available for online for purchase before the Jamboree. There was a noticeable lack of what I’ve called excessive merchandise. Instead of 8 hats there were only a couple. Instead of a dozen different color polo shirts there were a few. It was reported that many items sold out, this was probably because of Scouting's financial situation there were reports of credit issues with National BSA. Some items were available after the Jamboree by special order. |

![]() The weather was generally favorable. Hot and humid with a couple showers, that’s West Virginia in the summer. Although in the elevation's it’s sometimes cooler. The day after the Jamboree ended and most units were gone, a storm came through with straight line winds that were described as being as high as 90 mph. It devasted almost every non permanent structure. Thankfully, contingents were on their way home with dry tents and equipment safely packed away. |
