![]() The theme of having higher level staff members names on patches expanded. Besides being friendship exchange gifts, these badges were worn at the Jamboree. I had been told that national BSA disapproved or at least frowned at all the staff patches, but with such a large number of “approved” personal patches, it makes me wonder. |

2017 was the first Jamboree which had special insignia for the Jamboree Scoutmaster. |

| The Daily patch theme from 2013 were repeated. $4.99 each. In 2017 there seemed to be a good supply. For President Obama’s video message in 2013 there was a Presidents Day patch, but nothing for Trump who actually visited in person. I cover Trumps visit elsewhere. |
The
National Day of Service-Messengers of Peace idea is from
previous Jamborees. The State of West Virginia had done amazing
things for Scouting, but parts of the state exist in an undeveloped
or poor condition. Over 200 projects in rural communities were
identified and worked on. Most projects were completed in a single
day, but others took a couple days. Scouting has worked over the
years to instill in its members the idea of service to others.
Do a Good Turn Daily, Help Other People at all Times,
etc. Membership in the Order of the Arrow is for service to others.
Activities at the Jamboree are exciting and adventurous, it was good
to see Scouts devote some of their time to helping others. |

Below is an "oversize" 7"x4" patch is part of the Daily set. Not sure what it's for. |
